LITTLE TRAVERSE TREBLE CHOIR

Celebrating the bridge-building joy of music!

Do you know a child who loves to sing and make new friends? The Little Traverse Treble Choir is tuition-free and open to singers, ages 7-13 years. No prior singing experience is required; just a love of singing and an enjoyment of the friendship and sense of community music between individuals and across cultures. The Little Traverse Treble Choir has enjoyed performing and hosting the LTYC Annual Fancy Tea Party, the Petoskey Downtown Open House, Cross Village Tree Lighting at Three Pines Studio, singing with Santa in Downtown Petoskey and at Stafford's Perry Hotel, Little Traverse Civic Theatre's 2015 production of Annie, First Presbyterian Church of Harbor Springs, Voices Without Borders' Children of the World in Harmony Festival and a variety of local concerts. We are so grateful to Petoskey's Emmanuel Episcopal Church for providing rehearsal space to the choir.

For questions about the Choir, please contact Little Traverse Treble Choir Director, Maria Pierpont at mpierpont@littletraverseyouthchoir.org.

Meet our Director! As a native of Northern Michigan, Maria has a strong love for our community and a great respect for the
arts enrichment opportunities available here. As a young girl, she took private music lessons at the Crooked Tree Arts Center, was a member of the Petoskey Ballet Company, and performed in productions at Bay View as well as many other local venues. Maria received a scholarship for voice at Hope College where she completed her first BA. Continuing her education at Grand Valley State, she studied Secondary Education, English, and Psychology and then went on to obtain her MA in English Language and Literature at Central Michigan University. Maria has been working as a faculty member at North Central Michigan College teaching English classes since 2003. As a professional musician, Maria has been teaching private music lessons for over 20 years. She provided music entertainment for the Charlevoix Country Club for several summers and her services have been obtained on many occasions for weddings and special events. Maria has also been a member of the Northern Michigan Chorale and performs regularly as a soloist or as part of a worship team in local churches. She has written, developed, and directed full stage plays with choral music, vocal solos, and dance incorporated into them. As a singer/songwriter, Maria is currently in the process of composing an album of original works. Maria has an extreme love for people of all ages and finds great richness in life through building relationships and developing gifts. This passion is very much in line with the vision of Voices Without Borders, and Maria is most pleased to serve now as the Director of the LTYC Treble Choir!
